Q: Led Zeppelin / Elvis fans...?
I remember when Dread Zeppelins first album was released back in 1990. Many people hated it, many loved it. I remained indifferent, until I caught them live at a local night club. The lead singer (Tortelvis) took over the drum stool on Moby Dick, and actually surprised me! They even had a dude on stage that looked like Peter Grant giving them instructions! Lol Heartbreaker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16LI4TUucW4 Immigrant Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CO7FPU7a2g Black Dog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcEvQGHge0o&feature=related Kashmir http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgnh-DavNRs The Ocean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHlUEY7v6iM&feature=related What are your thoughts regarding this band? Dread Zeppelin weren't meant to be taken seriously...they were more of a parody/comedy act and nothing more. People who enjoy bands like Spinal Tap, and The Rutles, and aren't too over analytical might enjoy this band. That's OK Karl...I know exactly what you mean. Hey Sookie! Happy Tuesday! Kit...that's hilarious! Here's a portion of an interview with Robert Plant...apparently he's a fan! Lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNSSpXapks0 Lara Croft - Yeah, I discovered Lez Zeppelin awhile ago. Stumbled upon them by accident while surfing Youtube one day. Cool cover band. Thanks!

A: Hey, Smiley! :) Honestly, this is the first time I've heard them. The funky version of "Heartbreaker" was hilarious!

Q: How come they don't play bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, or Pink Floyd in dance clubs?

A: I like both Classic rock and music that's played in (some) clubs. I don't go to a club expecting to hear Zeppelin but rather club-type music. If I'm in the mood for some AC/DC or Stones, etal, I'd go into a different place where I know that would happen like a bar with a juke box or a place I know that has a classic rock cover band. However, I've seen exceptional DJs (both performance/touring DJ's and Club/Resident DJ's) who can mix it up and rock the house with the classic 70's rock and still flow the funk, 80's hip-hop, and (dare I say) top 40 to a pleased crowd. Catch Z-Trip if you ever get a chance. He pretty much popularized the whole rock/hip-hop mashup thing that so many DJs and producers have since tried to copy. He knows how to rock the party.

Q: The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or Beethoven?
My next door neighbour is playing his stupid club music again really loud. So I've decided to fight fire with fire. I'm playing my music really loud to drown him out. Should I play The Doors, Zeppelin, Floyd or Beethoven?

A: Beethoven. Anybody who listens to crappy club music should be introduced to quality at least once in their life.

Q: Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page-how can we contact/mail him?
I believe he lives in the UK. Can anyone get his phone # or address? Or know if he has a fan club that's in contact with him? My 13yo son is a HUGE fan of his! Maybe his number is listed in the UK? Anyone know?

A: No one has been able to provide the information you want so far. Keep on looking, it could turn up any day now...

Q: What's some recommended music similar to Van Morrison, Jethro Tull and Tracey Chapman?
I'm looking for some older-style, laid back music. I'm also listening to Belle & Sebastian, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Led Zeppelin and Blue Oyster Cult.

A: Go to Pandora.com, which is a free site that lets you put in an artists or a song, and it plays a series of similar artists and songs. It is really cool. Based on the obvious connections across your preferences, I can recommend Celine Dion, Black Sabbath, Toots Maytal, and the Austrian Boys Chior.

Q: Why do you think the members of Led Zep liked to be with groupies as opposed to other groups of that era?
I read in some book that Led Zeppelin members like to hang out at sleazy clubs with groupies.

A: Because all men like a dirty whore in bed and they like to keep the church girl on the back burner to bring home to MAMA!

Jungle Love (steve miller band) Time of the Season (zombies) Don't You Forget About Me (breakfast club song) Stairway to Heaven (led zeppelin) I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing (Aerosmith) Dream On (Aerosmith)

A: I would take "I dont want to miss a Thing"by Aerosmith

Q: Your Favourite Song Remixes/Mashups?
I'm a big fan of MTV mashup songs, and remixes are pretty much cool too. Which song is the best to you? What makes you like it more than the original(s)? My favourite remix right now is 'Drop It Like It's a Whole Lotta Love', which would be a mix of 'Drop It Like Its Hot' by Snoop Dogg and Led Zeppelins 'Whole Lotta Love'. The addition of Led Zep to Snoops club classic gave it a way better beat, its tons more interesting than the original.

A: You're putting antlers on Mona Lisa. Don't mess with the classics.

Q: Why are all the first Classic Rock bands British?
I think it may have something to do with racism because Classic Rock began with Blues and R&B which was predominatly African-American, and maybe the united states wouldnt let their be widespread white playing of that type of music and The British Invasion let it happen. Thats the only thing I can think of that makes some sense. Then you dont even see American Musicians until the "hippy" movement wich was rebelious anyways. Think about The Who, The beatles , Led zeppelin, The rolling stones, all were before anybody American There was Elvis he did started off in black clubs in memphis but much of his music was mellow, and there was a lot of disapproval of him, maybe the U.S couldnt take anything more than Elvis and The bands after Elvis were a lot more hardcore.

A: Purely a thing of the past. The best are now Australian.

Q: Where is the best place in the world for music? London? LA? Chicago?
Where are some big music hubs, like where the history of rock still lives on? Or maybe some famous club where a band started? Big record stores? I'm going to college up in Nor Cal in a small town called Arcata in Humboldt county. Its like a time warp back to the 60s, and everybody wears Grateful Dead and Led Zeppelin shirts. Not to mention the extreme left-winged hippies and their quest to legalize pot. Woohoo!

A: Chicago. We have an awesome local music scene. I listen to a lot of bands from here. They're great. There are also great music venues like the Metro, where I went to my first concert (local bands). There's also the House of Blues, Aragon, Congress Theatre, and the Chicago Theater. And we're also home to Lollapalooza. Can't beat that. :] Many bands got their start here, like the Smashing Pumpkins. Tom Morello of RATM, Fall Out Boy (ugh), the Hush Sound, The Frantic, Treaty of Paris, Lucky Boys Confusion, Shock Stars, The Academy Is..., Chicago (duh), Rise Against, Disturbed, Chevelle, Alkaline Trio, Local H, Ok Go, Spitalfield, Veruca Salt, Allister, Dr. Manhattan.
