Q: ac/dc!!!!!!!!?
In the recent months i have found my new found love for AC/DC and i've heard rumors that they're suppose to have a new album coming out in the year 2008 does anybody know if this is true?

A: As of January 2006, AC/DC are working on a new studio album. According to Malcolm Young, "The band is currently writing and recording material for the eagerly anticipated next album, but no release date has been set." In a 2004 interview, Brian Johnson revealed that, for the first time since the 1988 album Blow Up Your Video, he will be handling lyrics. He also said that Angus Young has written harder riffs than those on Stiff Upper Lip. In a 2005 interview, Johnson confirmed that the band does not know when the album will be recorded, or who will produce it. Malcolm Young said the new album has "gotta be perfect". Johnson and Williams along with Steve Luongo and Mark Hitt recorded new songs for a fund raising tour named "Classic Rock Cares", and new the new songs will be presented at the tour. So far, their first single "Chain Gang on the Road" has been presented, but the band doesn't have a name. Williams stated that "the Young brothers have been writing new material, but there’s no telling when that will crystallize into an album." e

Q: What is the difference between the AC/DC "Black Ice" versions?
What is the difference between the yellow, white, and original red versions of the "Black Ice" album by AC/DC that came out yesterday?

A: there isn't that big of a difference the yellow and white versions are 'limited editions' but really their record company just made less yellow and white versions I just got the white version even though the red one looks the coolest but i liked the white cover art and the fact that it was limited edition even though that doesn't really mean anything so don't worry about it just get which ever one you think looks the coolest because they're all the same

Q: where can I get a AC to DC converter for a 15V battery?
The AC-DC charger for my lawn trimmer has failed. Where can I get another?

A: An electronics store is your best bet. They have ones with adjustable voltages and a variety of plug types. Take your lawn trimmer with you. Getting this by mail or from the manufacturer can be cumbersome. Use the manufacturer as the second resource.

Q: What are the best seats for an AC DC concert?
Im getting AC DC tickets for my boyfriend for Christmas and Ive never been to a concert and i dont know what kind of seats are good. What would be best: Floor, 1st level, or 2nd Level?

A: I was in loge 10 section F and was extremely satisfied with the location the closer you are the more deaf youll go. Everyone was singing along with the band and you couldnt even hear anyone!! Absolutely great!!! So yea 1st or 2nd sections preferably.

Q: Would it be cheaper to manufacture something with single cell or rechargeable AC/DC battery?
I want to make something special, and I want to use rechargeable AC/DC battery. But is it a big cost difference betwwen the two?

A: Look at one of the battery stores for prices. But they can be interchanged. Use regular alkaline cells and you can switch to rechargeable later.

Q: Whats the difference between AC & DC on welding machines?
What is AC What is DC. How do they work? Is AC electricity based & DC generator based? Im confused!

A: AC and DC refer to the kind of electricity: Alternating Current and Direct Current for welding DC(+) is used to direct the heat from the Rod, to the piece being worked. the (negative) clamp is on the workpiece and the (positive) rod strikes an arc. electrons flow toward the rod and heat it.... alternatinc current (AC) is used for primarily for shielded welding where there is also a flow of inert gas surrounding the wire or rod. this keeps out any oxygen which may damage the workpiece or oxidise the weld if it made of Aluminum, Stainless steel , Titanium or Magnesium. you can alter the AC to direct more heat to either the workpiece or the rod. this makes for very clean welds that require no sanding or filing. wer

Q: If you plug an ac/dc voltage adapter designed for 120v into a 250v outlet, will it destroy the adapter?
I am currently stationed in Iraq. My sister sent me some brand new computer speakers for my laptop in the mail. Without thinking about it, I plugged them in, and it ended up blowing the entire circuit. Everything else I have plugged in (my laptop, external hard drive, DVD burner, tape deck, battery charger, razor charger, etc) has encountered no such problem with the 250v. The speakers won't even turn on, though. I don't know much about electricity so I'll give the details, and see if any of you know what is wrong: The input on the adapter is supposed to be 120v AC 60Hz 260mA and it's supposed to output 14v DC 1100mA to the subwoofer and speakers. Now, did I blow the adapter, ruin the speakers, or do I just need to find away to make the source 120v instead of 250v? Please help, my sister spent some good money on these speakers for me and it would break her heart to know that her generosity will never be enjoyed by myself. Thank you.

A: When you say "Adapter" I think you probably mean the "Power Supply Unit" for the speakers, so unless I have got it wrong yes you have more than likely wrecked the unit from over voltage damage. You can probably get a universal PSU which will be usable on both 120/240volts make sure the output voltage and current are capable of the demands you are going to place on it. I doubt that the speakers themselves have been damaged.

Q: will I damage my DC electronics if I don't quite match voltage and amperage using a AC/DC converter?
I have an old 8mm video camera that I want to use to transfer to DVD but I can't find the original ac/dc adapter for it. I have one for another camera with the same amperage (2A) but the adapter puts out 7.4 V instead of the 6V rated for the camera I want to run. How close do I have to get in voltage [assuming the polarity matches] without causing serious damage? What if I used a cheap wall-wart that puts out 6V but only a measly 300mA?

A: The safe answer is that you have to match the voltage, but the current rating you can just try it to see if it will work. If there isn't enough current, it may just charge the battery very slowly or may not be able to operate and charge the battery at the same time. Too high of a voltage with no internal regulation could blow any number of components, too low of a voltage may cause an over draw of current and be even worse (I did this once)

Q: where can i get AC/DC tickets for pittsburgh and when are they coming?
when is AC/DC coming to pittsburgh and how do i get tickets?

A: www.ticketmaster.com it's really easy. you can find out when they are coming and where you can sit for what amount of money. and you can print the tickets out at home! good luck. hey, go pittsburgh! advise from a fellow Pittsburghian.

Q: What should the input voltage of an AC-DC SMPS be?
I have built an smps in a simulation programme (Multisim) but when trying to measure the input voltage (which should be the mains 240V AC) i can only get a DC volts reading on the multimeter, when on AC it reads 0V. Is this because it goes straight into the bridge? or have i done something wrong somewhere? Should i be able to get 230 VAC on the multimeter?

A: I would like to know the answer too

Q: how can i generate power supply 220volt AC to 5 volt DC with high performance?
i want to build a power supply AC/DC 220/5volt with small Ampere with out any AC voltage (nearly) what are the electronics components needed? and What is the circuit diagram? and If i have a problem in my connection how can i discover( find) it easily and solve it too? please help me by give me the answer of all previous questions and write some usefull website about this subject (power supply)

A: the components required are : transformer 220/5volt with an ampere rating as your requirement a bridge rectifier to convert ac to dc a capacitor filter to smooth out the ripples (to eliminate nearly all ac component) a power regulator IC such as LM317

Q: I am making a electric shocker. I need to know if this AC-DC adapter is too powerful.
I am making an electric shocker with a old ac-dc adapter. It is 12v and 700 ma. Is that too powerful? If so please tell me, cuz i dont wanna get killed. i dont think its volts that kills you but the amps. not sure how many can kill you.

A: Do not do this. The border line between a shock and death is very narrow. What can shock someone one time can kill someone else another time. Why do you want to shock someone? Find some other way to play, this is too dangerous. That being said, 12 volts is low enough that you won't even feel a shock from it. But go much higher, like 30-40 volts, and you are on the edge of the lethal area. .

Q: Can you connect multiple 12v devices to an AC/DC adapter?
Like the question says can you connect more than one 12v device to an AC/DC adapter? Does anyone know where i can get a universal adapter? Thanks

A: As long as sum of the current rating of both devices do not exceed that of the adapter and both the fuse in the adapter and the fuse in your car for the power point you are using. For an AC/DC adapter the concept is the same, all universal adapters have a max current rating usually ranging from 150ma-5000ma(5A) assuming your a good solderer you can easily do this. There aren't many adapters that are already pretapped for multiple devices but making one would be easy.

Q: How come AC/DC doesn't release their discography online?
You can't really buy AC/DC albums on iTunes or Rhapsody, or anywhere online, you have to go buy their cd's. Just wondering why they don't release them? Comon Led Zeppelin and The Beatles eventually did...

A: You can get em here: http://www.amazon.com/AC-DC-Live/dp/B000002JQ6 Scroll down a little for more of their collection.

Q: Is AC/DC still good or have the lost their touch?
I've always really like AC/DC, but I haven't listened to Black Ice yet but I'm wondering what AC/DC fans think of it. What are people's opinions on the new cd by AC/DC?

A: I think they are still fuckin' brilliant, the new album is great sounding and the shows I've seen on the tour have been fantastic. Black Ice is a really fresh sounding album, on BallBreaker and Stiff Upper Lip they did sound a little old (still brilliant though) but this new album sounds awesome, you should buy it.
